Fall Transition

I can already taste the pumpkin spiced lattes, hear the crowd cheer of a football game, and feel the cool crisp breeze….ok so I’m dreaming a little bit…

But fall really is right the corner! It’s the time where we ditch the bright summer colors for rich earth tones and replace the sandals with booties. It’s FALL Y’ALL!

This outfit is mostly items I already had in my closet, since most fall styles are just now hitting the stores (plus it’s SO hot here in Florida that I wouldn’t be caught dead in cashmere right now…even for a blog post! 😝).

My white blazer is from Zara. Yes, you can wear a white blazer year round! To me it’s the perfect transition piece. Find a similar one here.

I paired it with faux leather shorts from Free People from many seasons ago (buy similar here), a silk tank by Rory Beca (new and available at LaLa Couture-call to order), and heels by Schutz

The leopard foldover clutch by Clare V is one of my favorite purchases for fall…it’s super roomy without being oversized. Last but certainly not least, my all time favorite go-to accessory is by none other than my favorite accessory designer Ted Rossi. You can special order the leather talon cuff from LaLa Couture Boutique-it comes in a variety of colors and styles. Call 954-712-1100.

Stay tuned to the blog and my instagram (@lala_styled) for more fall picks, how to style them and where to purchase.

Molly

Tropical Summer

I have a lot of neutrals and solids in my closet…so when I find a print I love, I go for it. This tank top and short set by MinkPink is the perfect little summer pairing. The tropical print is refreshing without being “touristy.” And it’s soooo comfy! Added bonus: you can pair both pieces with other separates. The shorts look fab with a graphic tee!

My set is from LaLa Couture Boutique but it is sold out. Revolve has the print in a romper that’s also super cute. The shoes are the Steve Madden Dondde sandal…available at Macy’s. The clutch, by GiGi NY, comes in a variety of colors, order yours from LaLa Couture (call 954-712-1100 to order and follow them on instagram to see new goodies! @lalacouturegirl).

Enjoy the last few weeks of summer!

XOXO,

Molly

Fancy

Graphic tees and ripped up denim? Yes, please! These are go-tos in my closet. I love that One Teaspoon takes distressed to a whole new level. Although my mom would tell me I need new jeans (without holes)…lol.

And of course ripped denim always looks good with Manolos!

Shop the look at LaLa Couture Boutique. Call 954-712-1100 to order.

Pineapple Print

Pineapple print is a big trend for summer, and I was thrilled when Rails LA put the print on my favorite shirt…the Britt rolled sleeve. Lightweight and easy, perfect for the summer heat. I paired it with Arizona Birkenstocks, a leather crossbody from Hammitt LA, and my favorite One Teaspoon Bandits.

Get the look at LaLa Couture Boutique. Call 954-712-1100 to order.

White Mini

The perfect little summer dress…the Pina Colada Mini by For Love and Lemons. It’s the perfect day dress or poolside coverup. Add a real pina colada and you’re set. Find the dress here.

My boater hat from J Crew is sold out in this color, but I also love it in the navy.

Grab a pair of Quay Australia sunnies from LaLa Couture Boutique (call 954-712-1100 to order- they ship free!)

The shoes are by Steve Madden…super comfy, affordable and chic.

Thanks for checking out the blog!

The Shirt Dress

Since it’s bodering on scorching here in South Florida, I like to keep my summer outfits light and airy. That’s why I LOVE this shirt dress. It’s casual, easy and flattering. It’s by a brand called Glam and they sell these dresses at LaLa Couture. I have it in so many colors! My favorite is the pink (and that happens to be my hubby’s fave color on me!) Their summer colors are on sale now and it’s less than $50! Call 954-712-1100 to order.

The sandals are by Joie and are currently on sale on their website here. It’s one of the best purchases I’ve made! Plus there are three colors to choose from and an additional 20% off through August 3rd.

My sunglasses are by Quay Australia, also available at LaLa (bonus-they’re $39!) My handbag is the Amorous Satchel in biscuit by Rebecca Minkoff. By the time I posted this blog it had sold out, but the white is just as beautiful for summer and is also on sale here.

Happy sale shopping!

XOXO,

Molly

Black and White is Always Right

There’s no replacing the classic look of black and white. Although I am a huge fan of bold color, especially for summer, I love to tone it down every once in a while.

I am so excited that slides have come back into style! It does take me back to my college days…but as a new mom I’m more excited about the comfort. I sprung for some tan Birkenstocks but also wanted  other colors and didn’t want to break the bank. These are from Forever21. They’re comfy and on trend. I sized up a half size.

My entire outfit (minus the shoes) is from LaLa Couture Boutique. The jogger shorts are by Heather. Tank is from Chaser paired with a lace Coobie bra. Sunnies are by Quay Australia and are available for purchase at LaLa. Call 954-712-1100 to order.

Pretty in PinkBlush: What to Wear After Baby

purple dress 2purple dress 3purple dress 1kimono 2 kimono 3 kimono 4 It’s one of the biggest fashion dilemmas a postpartum mom can face: how to look trendy while nursing.  As if nursing wasn’t hard enough, new moms are faced with the challenge of finding comfortable, fashionable pieces that make nursing a breeze. And if your baby is anything like my baby, he is always hungry!

Let’s face it- there isn’t much out there by way of cute maternity/nursing clothing. That’s why I was so excited to find PinkBlush. Not only do they have a cute, affordable and trendy women’s line, they also have maternity as well as nursing clothing. Score!

I love this ruffled dress for a few reasons. First, the ruffle hides some of the extra baby weight. Second, it’s got a zipper down the center- talk about perfect for nursing! Third, it’s super lightweight for summer. I paired it with a denim vest and gladiator sandals.

For anyone that knows my style, I LOVE cardigans/kimonos or anything I can throw on over a simple outfit to make it pop. Bonus: this cardigan can be worn before and after pregnancy and can double as a nursing cover! Here I paired it with a simple camisole, denim shorts and gladiator sandals.

Something Old, Something New: Baby J’s Room

If I hadn’t gotten into the fashion industry, I would have loved to have pursued a career in interiors/home design. I absolutely LOVE design and decorating. As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I began designing the nursery. I knew right away I wanted something contemporary, but with a mixture of different design elements, textures and neutral colors. I wanted a high-end looking nursery but on a budget.

Bring on Pinterest! I created numerous boards and poured over hundreds of photos on my Houzz app. Which was perfect for those sleepless pregnancy nights. I came across the adorable animal print photos from the Animal Print Shop and decided on a “baby animal” theme.

The next decision was furniture. I already had a beautiful natural wood daybed that folds out into a full size bed. It’s great for when guests come over, as it provides extra seating, as well as an extra place for guests (or mom!) to sleep. I also had an ivory dresser from Crate and Barrel that was not being used, and that fit perfectly into the nursery’s theme. I originally wanted all white furniture, but decided to use items I already had instead of sell them. Since the dresser is ivory, I knew a white crib would not look right. I chose the Childcraft Logan Convertible Crib in espresso, because I thought the dark wood would contrast nicely with the pops of gray (bonus- it was only $200 and converts to a toddler bed and a full size bed for when Jake gets older!) We chose the Kelcie glider from walmart.com. It was a bargain, easy to clean and is so comfy! Very happy with this purchase!

The adorable cat chair and bookcase were both purchases I made in college. My mom and I had gone “antiquing” in Havana, FL and stumbled across those adorable pieces. I’ve had them for over 18  years and they fit perfectly in the nursery.

I wanted to keep the colors neutral- mostly grays, taupes, soft blues, espresso,  ivory, silver with a bright pop of chartreuse. To me, this was soothing and comforting for both the baby and me. I love mixing textures and prints.

For the bedding, I registered at Pottery Barn Kids. This is the Harper nursery bedding. I love the chevron print and think it looks super cute in the room. I plan on taking the bumpers out (for safety reasons) until Jake is older, but for now, we are using the crib as a changing area so it is perfectly safe. The mobile with the adorable animals is also from Pottery Barn Kids.

My sister and her boyfriend came into town to help me put the nursery together. We decided to paint the walls gray (they were tan before) and I love the color we chose – Silver Bullet by Behr. Next on our list was to pick out the accessories.

We found the perfect frames for our animal prints from Bed, Bath & Beyond. We also needed blackout curtains and loved the textured ones we found. Now it was off to Target and HomeGoods! At HomeGoods I found the lighted “J” as well as the hassock, giraffe on the dresser, cute zebra and the worded throw pillows. It was all starting to come together!

Our last stop was Target. I could not believe our luck as we found our remaining items! The chartreuse stand, mod lamp, the printed rug, and the remaining throw pillows could not have been more perfect!

Well…a lot has changed over the last 9 months! My husband and I are expecting our first baby boy this July. We couldn’t be more excited or nervous.

Between being pregnant, moving, and running a retail store, I haven’t had much time to put into my blog. I had hopes of capturing some fabulous styled maternity looks, but it seems like life just got so busy in between! So, I’ve decided to share with you my maternity photo shoot which was such a special time for my growing family.

My photographer, Kristin Potenti of KP Studios, really nailed exactly what I was looking for in the shoot. I wanted to do a few different looks, and for some reason, had my heart set on a whimsical/boho/romantic vibe with none other than a gorgeous horse. Horse and flower crown? Right up my alley!

I LOVE DIY projects (when I have the time) and decided to take a shot at making my own floral crown. Let’s just say, 3 hours, 2 re-dos, 10 you-tube videos later and tons of glue gun shreds, I had my masterpiece. I will need to perfect my craft before I turn selling floral crowns into my next business 😉

The first few photos we shot were at my home. I wanted something really special for my husband and myself. I was a little nervous about posting my bare belly, but people post bikini selfies all the time, so why not? The pregnant belly is beautiful and shows the little miracle that is growing inside.

I loved Rach Parcell of Pink and Peonies beautiful pink rose kimono/robe, and actually found a similar one at Forever 21. I paired it with a Coobie Bra (super comfy, one-size fits all) which you can find on Amazon.

My puppy was excited to be a part of the shoot- he is excited to be a big brother!

The next outfit I chose was a gorgeous crochet caftan by Jen’s Pirate Booty. You can purchase the caftan here from LaLa Couture Boutique (call to order). I love the way my photographer edited these photos. It was really a special moment for my husband and me.

The final shots were taken at Robbins Park in Davie, FL. We rented the most beautiful horse, Ellie, for the shoot. It was actually really funny- Ellie was way more into eating grass and sneezing than having her photo taken. Every time I would pull her up from trying to the eat the grass, my dress would fall down! I don’t know how in the world my photographer got such amazing photos! It was pretty amusing! Wardrobe stylist Britta Foreman was there to help me fix my dress every time (thank goodness!).

Speaking of the dress…I found this beauty on Etsy from The Citrus Branch. It was perfect for the shoot because you could let it be open in the front, or keep it closed.

I had a wonderful time shooting these maternity photos, and I hope you enjoyed as well! I linked all of the looks to where you can purchase above.

A big thank you to the following for helping make the maternity shoot a huge success:
