Thanksgiving Day Style

Hi Y’all! I’m BAAAAACK after a long hiatus. Life just sometimes gets crazy and my time and energies were focused elsewhere. I’m happy to say I’m in a much more creative place than I was 5 months ago when I took a little break. Sometimes as artists, we need a chance to take a step back, breathe, and refocus.

I have been SUPER busy working with styling clients (as well as my full-time corporate job and being a single mommy!) which has helped re-spark my creative flow. If you’re anything like me, stripes and fall colors are my FAVORITE! I can just taste the pumpkin spice lattes right now! I found this super cute dress for under $20 and it looks way more expensive. Super high quality hand the perfect look for your Thanksgiving feast. I’m wearing a size small for reference.

Crop Everything

I wore this to a new restaurant here in Pompano Beach, and it was a gorgeous breezy evening, and still slightly cool for South Florida!

I LOVE the crop trend…cropped pants and crop tops woohooo! I especially love crop pants because I’m short. I usually pair them with heels to give myself more height but they also look cute with flats.

My crop top is OLD but I found a similar one that would work with this outfit. The pants I got at Nordstrom Rack, but I couldn’t find this color online. They may have them in your local NR store, and they have navy or olive online- both amazing colors! They are so soft and comfy, they feel like jammies. Plus you can EAT in them. My kind of pants!

Paradise in Palm Print

What I wouldn’t give to spend every day in this type of paradise! The truth is, I live here, but rarely get time to come down to the beach. I was SO excited to spend some time here this weekend! And in my new to-die-for palm print swimsuit! I wore it here as a top…love that it does double duty! And the best part gals…it’s only $24!!

My shorts are very flattering (sometimes it’s hard to find high-waisted bottoms that are flattering!) from Lulu’s. My woven bag is also from Lulus and is a MUST HAVE trend for the spring/summer! Only $64! My slides I got from Forever 21 last year but am linking similar ones. My hat is by J Crew from two seasons ago, but linking similar ones. My earrings are by Marlyn Schiff. My necklace is my every day go-to by Sonya Renee.

Summer Stripes

thumb_IMG_0264_1024Summer is here and that means warmer temps, beach days, and cute dresses. I love anything with stripes, especially an easy maxi dress. Just throw it on and go!

Edgy meets Romantic

Ruffles and ripped up denim? Yes please! Pairing romantic with edgy pieces is a little more unexpected. While they may seem like opposites- they attract.

I’ve been on a budget lately and have been LOVING all of the pieces I have found. While I tend to buy more premium denim, I found the most perfect, high-wasited pair at Forever 21. And they’re only $29. They fit like a dream.

Because of the edginess, I toned it down with a romantic ruffled cold shoulder blouse, also from Forever 21. The light pink color and chiffon fabric is perfect for summer, and I am also a huge fan of the ruffle cuffs.

I think pumps pair perfectly with this outfit. Mine are old from Zara, but I’ve linked a similar pair here.

My fringe earrings are on sale now at Saks Off 5th for $14! They are also lightweight and go with everything,

Finally, my go-to bag for everything is this one by Vince. I have been getting into all things brown lately–and I literally carry this bag with everything. I found this at my local Saks Off 5th, but linked a similar one here from Nordstrom that’s under $50!

Tropical Summer

 I have a lot of neutrals and solids in my closet…so when I find a print I love, I go for it. This tank top and short set by MinkPink is the perfect little summer pairing. The tropical print is refreshing without being “touristy.” And it’s soooo comfy! Added bonus: you can pair both pieces with other separates. The shorts look fab with a graphic tee!

My set is from LaLa Couture Boutique but it is sold out. Revolve has the print in a romper that’s also super cute. The shoes are the Steve Madden Dondde sandal…available at Macy’s. Pineapple Print

 Pineapple print is a big trend for summer, and I was thrilled when Rails LA put the print on my favorite shirt…the Britt rolled sleeve. Lightweight and easy, perfect for the summer heat. I paired it with Arizona Birkenstocks, a leather crossbody from Hammitt LA, and my favorite One Teaspoon Bandits.

The Shirt Dress

Since it’s bodering on scorching here in South Florida, I like to keep my summer outfits light and airy. That’s why I LOVE this shirt dress. It’s casual, easy and flattering. It’s by a brand called Glam and they sell these dresses at LaLa Couture. I have it in so many colors! My favorite is the pink (and that happens to be my hubby’s fave color on me!) The sandals are by Joie and are currently on sale on their website here. It’s one of the best purchases I’ve made! Plus there are three colors to choose from and an additional 20% off through August 3rd.

My sunglasses are by Quay Australia, also available at LaLa (bonus-they’re $39!) My handbag is the Amorous Satchel in biscuit by Rebecca Minkoff. By the time I posted this blog it had sold out, but the white is just as beautiful for summer and is also on sale here.
