Thanksgiving Day Style

Hi Y’all! I’m BAAAAACK after a long hiatus. Life just sometimes gets crazy and my time and energies were focused elsewhere. I’m happy to say I’m in a much more creative place than I was 5 months ago when I took a little break. Sometimes as artists, we need a chance to take a step back, breathe, and refocus.

I have been SUPER busy working with styling clients (as well as my full-time corporate job and being a single mommy!) which has helped re-spark my creative flow. If you’re anything like me, stripes and fall colors are my FAVORITE! I can just taste the pumpkin spice lattes right now! I found this super cute dress for under $20 and it looks way more expensive. Super high quality hand the perfect look for your Thanksgiving feast. I’m wearing a size small for reference.

Crop Everything

I wore this to a new restaurant here in Pompano Beach, and it was a gorgeous breezy evening, and still slightly cool for South Florida!

I LOVE the crop trend…cropped pants and crop tops woohooo! I especially love crop pants because I’m short. I usually pair them with heels to give myself more height but they also look cute with flats.

My crop top is OLD but I found a similar one that would work with this outfit. The pants I got at Nordstrom Rack, but I couldn’t find this color online. They may have them in your local NR store, and they have navy or olive online- both amazing colors! They are so soft and comfy, they feel like jammies. Plus you can EAT in them. My kind of pants!

Paradise in Palm Print

What I wouldn’t give to spend every day in this type of paradise! The truth is, I live here, but rarely get time to come down to the beach. I was SO excited to spend some time here this weekend! And in my new to-die-for palm print swimsuit! I wore it here as a top…love that it does double duty! And the best part gals…it’s only $24!!

My shorts are very flattering (sometimes it’s hard to find high-waisted bottoms that are flattering!) from Lulu’s. My woven bag is also from Lulus and is a MUST HAVE trend for the spring/summer! Only $64! My slides I got from Forever 21 last year but am linking similar ones. My hat is by J Crew from two seasons ago, but linking similar ones. My earrings are by Marlyn Schiff. My necklace is my every day go-to by Sonya Renee.

Sweater Weather

Fall is absolutely hands-down my favorite season of the year! Although we don’t get much “fall” weather in South FL, when we do, I’m ecstatic to wear sweaters. I do travel quite often so I have even more of a chance to wear them. Just recently, I purchased this fabulous Lace-up sweater from AMAZON! It was only $18 and came in two days. You have to love Amazon Prime! There are several fun colors, and I chose rust…one of my favorite fall colors.

I’ve rounded up a few of my top picks for fall and winter this year, and bonus, they are all under $70! Ruffles, lace-up backs, off the shoulder and bell sleeves are the key to this year’s trend. Neutrals are always a good choice, but don’t be afraid to go for color either! Reds, purples, pinks, oranges and yellows dominate the color palette for fall.

thumb_IMG_0264_1024Summer is here and that means warmer temps, beach days, and cute dresses. I love anything with stripes, especially an easy maxi dress. Just throw it on and go!

Edgy meets Romantic

Ruffles and ripped up denim? Yes please! Pairing romantic with edgy pieces is a little more unexpected. While they may seem like opposites- they attract.

I’ve been on a budget lately and have been LOVING all of the pieces I have found. While I tend to buy more premium denim, I found the most perfect, high-wasited pair at Forever 21. And they’re only $29. They fit like a dream.

Because of the edginess, I toned it down with a romantic ruffled cold shoulder blouse, also from Forever 21. The light pink color and chiffon fabric is perfect for summer, and I am also a huge fan of the ruffle cuffs.

I think pumps pair perfectly with this outfit. Mine are old from Zara, but I’ve linked a similar pair here.

My fringe earrings are on sale now at Saks Off 5th for $14! They are also lightweight and go with everything,

Finally, my go-to bag for everything is this one by Vince. I have been getting into all things brown lately–and I literally carry this bag with everything. I found this at my local Saks Off 5th, but linked a similar one here from Nordstrom that’s under $50!

The 3 Easy, Wearable Trends for Spring

cropped-img_4378.jpgSpring is in the air and fashion is in full bloom. Hot from the runways at New York’s Fashion Week, I chose the top three wearable and must-have trends for the upcoming season.

Off the shoulder tops dominated as spring’s hottest go-to piece. I am especially loving linen in soft pastel colors, such as lilac or pale pink. So go ahead, bare those shoulders as the temperatures rise.

Dainty floral prints dominated down the runway, especially skirts paired with bra tops. Designers pushed the envelope and mixed the feminine with a bit of sex appeal.

Chokers- my favorite 90’s revival- are here to stay for the season. From jeweled dazzlers to delicate lace to leather, anything goes. The key is to layer, layer, layer. Chokers work exceptionally well paired with long layered pendants.

 

 

 

Fall Transition

I can already taste the pumpkin spiced lattes, hear the crowd cheer of a football game, and feel the cool crisp breeze….ok so I’m dreaming a little bit…

But fall really is right the corner! It’s the time where we ditch the bright summer colors for rich earth tones and replace the sandals with booties. It’s FALL Y’ALL!

This outfit is mostly items I already had in my closet, since most fall styles are just now hitting the stores (plus it’s SO hot here in Florida that I wouldn’t be caught dead in cashmere right now…even for a blog post! 😝).

My white blazer is from Zara. Yes, you can wear a white blazer year round! To me it’s the perfect transition piece. Find a similar one here.

I paired it with faux leather shorts from Free People from many seasons ago (buy similar here), a silk tank by Rory Beca (new and available at LaLa Couture-call to order), and heels by Schutz. 

The leopard foldover clutch by Clare V is one of my favorite purchases for fall…it’s super roomy without being oversized. Last but certainly not least, my all time favorite go-to accessory is by none other than my favorite accessory designer Ted Rossi.
