Edgy meets Romantic

thumb_IMG_9677_1024thumb_IMG_9692_1024thumb_IMG_9676_1024thumb_IMG_9670_1024thumb_IMG_8294_1024thumb_IMG_9665_1024If there’s one thing I love to do when it comes to style– it’s mixing. Ruffles and ripped up denim? Yes please! Pairing romantic with edgy pieces is a little more unexpected. While they may seem like opposites- they attract.

I’ve been on a budget lately and have been LOVING all of the pieces I have found. While I tend to buy more premium denim, I found the most perfect, high-wasited pair at Forever 21. And they’re only $29. They fit like a dream.

Because of the edginess, I toned it down with a romantic ruffled cold shoulder blouse, also from Forever 21. The light pink color and chiffon fabric is perfect for summer, and I am also a huge fan of the ruffle cuffs.

I think pumps pair perfectly with this outfit. Mine are old from Zara, but I’ve linked a similar pair here.

My fringe earrings are on sale now at Saks Off 5th for $14! They are also lightweight and go with everything,

Finally, my go-to bag for everything is this one by Vince. I have been getting into all things brown lately–and I literally carry this bag with everything. I found this at my local Saks Off 5th, but linked a similar one here from Nordstrom that’s under $50!

Happy summer shopping and styling!

Travel Chic

There’s nothing I love more than traveling. Whether it’s for work or play, something about taking flight and getting out of dodge is certainly my cup of tea.

I travel often for work…especially heading to markets to buy for my boutique. It’s one of my favorite parts of the job. I get to see all of the upcoming trends, meet the designers, and get inspired by the gorgeous colors and fabrics for the upcoming seasons.

It can be challenging to dress trendy for traveling and also for being on my feet all day. I tend to head straight from the airport to market, and that’s really early in the am, and AFTER waking up and trying to get ready with a 19 month old. It can be challenging to say the least! I usually try to plan ahead, but sometimes I’ve got to just “throw it together.”

This morning was no exception. I am thankful I have these staple pieces in my closet that keep me comfy and stylish at the same time. Of course, a hat is a must for those rushed mornings.

I am OBSESSED with these workout leggings by Koral. They truly double as a liquid legging- you can wear them to work out or wear them out! They are incredibly comfy and flattering. I could live in them.

I paired it with an easy pullover I got from H&M ($24.99!) that is lightweight enough to wear in FL, and also good for layering when I get to my colder destination.

I just got these sneakers from Adidas and love them! They are like a cloud! I am a runner, so I wanted something that was stylish but also serves double duty: I can wear them out and about on the town or to the gym.

I’ve linked similar items to all of the styles I’m wearing below. Catch ya on the flip side when I get to my destination! Make sure to follow me on Instagram to see all of my latest #ootds @lala_styled.

The 3 Easy, Wearable Trends for Spring

cropped-img_4378.jpgSpring is in the air and fashion is in full bloom. Hot from the runways at New York’s Fashion Week, I chose the top three wearable and must-have trends for the upcoming season.

Off the shoulder tops dominated as spring’s hottest go-to piece. I am especially loving linen in soft pastel colors, such as lilac or pale pink. So go ahead, bare those shoulders as the temperatures rise.

Dainty floral prints dominated down the runway, especially skirts paired with bra tops. Designers pushed the envelope and mixed the feminine with a bit of sex appeal.

Chokers- my favorite 90’s revival- are here to stay for the season. From jeweled dazzlers to delicate lace to leather, anything goes. The key is to layer, layer, layer. Chokers work exceptionally well paired with long layered pendants.

Fall Florals

The leaves may be turning but that doesn’t stop me from wearing pretty florals. The key to staying true to the season is in the colors…look for navy, orange, purple or any other fall colors. I absolutely love this top by Daniel Rainn. I kept it modern by pairing it with flares. The denim is from a few seasons ago but another pair that would work is the Joy in Pulse by DL1961. You can shop my entire outfit at LaLa Couture Boutique.

Flares + Fringe

Fall is in the air and I couldn’t be more excited.

The 70’s are back in style with flare denim topping the list. Luckliy, I have an amazing old pair in my closet by Fidelity. I’m also obssesing over the Joy in Pulse by DL1961 and the Girl Crush in Dustbowl by Current Elliott. Buy both from LaLa (954-712-1100 to order). The greatest thing about flares is they look good on even us short gals because they elongate the leg. Show off those gams girl!

I paired mine with a basic silk tank by Bella Luxx and completed the look with my favorite handbag at the moment- this fringe stunner by Jennifer Haley (also available at LaLa).

Rainy Days

Rainy days call for easy dresses and Hunter boots! The weather in South Florida has been less desirable, so I pulled out my favorite wellies and splashed in a few puddles. Why not?!

One of my new additions to my wardrobe is this knit tee dress by Current Elliott. It’s super comfy and can be worn so many ways. It’s also a great fall transition piece. When it’s not raining I’ll pair it with booties and a leather jacket. Buy it here.

My handbag by Rebecca Minkoff is from a few seasons ago, but you can purchase a similar one here

Here’s to making rainy days more fashionable!

Vested

One of my big must-haves for fall is a great vest. It’s an essential piece to inVEST in this fall 😊 This army green one by Current Elliott is my pick because you can wear it now as we transition to fall, and it goes with everything!

I chose to style this with a summery casual outfit for a day of errands. Comfy sneaks, Current Elliott denim skirt and trusty J Crew tee were in need of a vest to create the transition look. The finishing touch is my amazing leather crossbody by Hammitt.

You can also pair this vest with a fitted dress, maxi dress, jeans, the options are endless! I’m sure you’ll see me post more style options in this awesome piece. Buy it here. There is also one left at LaLa Couture (as well as the handbag)–call 954-712-1100, mention my blog and get 10% off plus free shipping!

Pinstripes and Leopard

These are two of my favorite things…

And they fit perfectly into my fall transition wardrobe. The fuzzy leopard flats juxtapose the summery pinstripes of the dress, making it a bit more “fall” like.

The shirtdress is by Glam and it’s such a score for $89! I practically live in it. LaLa Couture Boutique has them in stock so call to order before they are sold out. 954-712-1100 or you can iMessage them! Sales@lalacouture.com.

The Rebecca Minkoff bag (love love love this bag!) is also available at the store. The flats are by Nine West from a few seasons ago, but I found similar ones by J Crew.

Thanks for stoppong by the blog! You can always email (lala_styles@mail.com) me with fashion or style questions. Happy transitioning into fall!

Molly
